Celebrating World Oceans Day with Euphoric Threads
As World Oceans Day approaches on June 8th, it's a perfect time to reflect on our impact on the environment and the steps we can take to protect our precious oceans. At Euphoric Threads, we are deeply committed to sustainability and ocean conservation. Our practices are not just about creating beautiful swimwear and activewear but also about ensuring that every piece contributes to a healthier planet. Here's a look at the eight sustainable practices that define our brand and how we're making a difference.
1: Regenerating Waste into Fashion
Sustainable Fabrics :
At Euphoric Threads, all our fabrics are made from regenerated nylon. This high-quality material is sourced from post-consumer waste and plastic ghost fishing nets rescued from the ocean. By transforming waste into fashion, we help reduce ocean pollution and give new life to discarded materials.
2: DESIGNED WITH LOVE, PRINTED IN THE UK
In-House Designs :
Our prints and fabrics are designed in-house by myself, Laura. Each design is a labour of love, reflecting my passion for creativity and sustainability. I take pride in printing our fabrics in the UK, supporting local industries and ensuring high-quality production standards. I work with Friedman's who use water based eco-friendly dyes straight onto ECONYL® fabrics.
3. Handcrafted with Care
Hand-Sewn Garments :
Every piece of clothing at Euphoric Threads is hand-sewn by myself, Laura, in a very cosy static caravan studio located in Dorset. I avoid overseas factories, reducing our carbon footprint and ensuring that each garment is crafted with meticulous attention to detail and care. I love cutting out the fabrics in the most sustainable ways possible to use every single inch of our beautiful eco fabrics.
4. Beach Cleans and Artistic Endeavors
Did you know Euphoric Threads run regular beach cleans?
We are committed to keeping our coastlines clean. I organise regular beach cleans in Dorset and always make an effort to pick up plastic along our beaches and coastlines. Sometimes, this collected plastic even becomes part of my homemade artwork, turning plastic into anything fantastic!
5. Eco-Friendly Packaging
Compostable and Recycled Packaging :
Every Euphoric Threads order is sent using compostable or recycled packaging. We encourage our customers to reuse these materials in their gardens, promoting a cycle of sustainability that extends beyond our products.
6. Zero Waste Commitment
Utilising Fabric Off-Cuts :
I can assure you that no fabric goes to waste in our Euphoric Threads studio. By using recycled fabric waste to create unique bikinis, I produce one-of-a-kind pieces that stand out. Our zero-waste sample sales throughout the year further contribute to reducing studio fabric waste.
You can check out some of my unique, one-off creations here.
7. Creative Accessories
Fabric Remnants for Accessories :
All our fabric remnants are transformed into accessories such as scrunchies. This practice not only minimizes waste but also adds a stylish touch to our collection, offering our customers a complete sustainable fashion experience.
8.SUPPORTING OCEAN CONSERVATION CHARITIES
Last but not least, I make a conscious effort to support the work of these incredible charities. Firstly Surfers Against Sewage, check them out here. Secondly Take 3 For The Sea.
